Frequently asked questions
How do I load a chat history?
In apps such as LINE, choose "Send chat history" or "Export chat" and select LoveStep in the share sheet — it opens right away. If you saved the file to Files, open the case in LoveStep and choose Add material → Chat history file. LoveStep reads export files from LINE, Instagram, WhatsApp and KakaoTalk.
Can I use screenshots?
Yes. LoveStep reads screenshots from any app, including dating apps — up to 10 at a time. Take them while scrolling so each one overlaps the previous one a little; overlaps are removed automatically. Bubbles on the right are read as yours (you can swap the sides per material if needed).
Does it work for someone I met on a dating app?
Yes. Besides chat screenshots, you can load a screenshot of their profile (hobbies, what they are looking for, etc.; names and detailed addresses are not read). The coach also points out first-date safety and signs of scams, such as talk about money or investments.
What if we barely chat?
You can still get a diagnosis by describing the situation in a written note — useful for someone you see at work or school. The fewer materials there are, the lower the diagnosis's confidence.
Does it write replies for me?
No. LoveStep is not a reply generator. It advises what to convey, how, and when, and adds a short one-line example only when helpful. You can have your own drafts reviewed with "Check before sending".
Where are my chats stored?
Only on your device. They are sent to Google (Vertex AI) for AI processing, but they are not stored on LoveStep's servers or on Google's side, and are not used to train AI (with the exception of Google's abuse monitoring, up to 30 days). See the Privacy Policy.
Is the diagnosis accurate?
The AI's diagnosis and advice are reference information based on your chats and answers. They show the messages they are based on and mark guesses as guesses, but accuracy and outcomes are not guaranteed.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → LoveStep. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period, it will not renew.
How do I restore purchases?
In the App, go to Settings → Plan → Restore Purchases.
How do I delete all my data?
In the App, go to Settings → Data → Delete all data. Deleted data cannot be restored.
Who can use LoveStep?
People aged 16 and older.
What if I feel unsafe?
If you or someone else is in danger, contact the police, emergency services, or a local public help line immediately. When the App detects signs of serious danger, it also shows help resources for your country.
